This role supports young people to discover the joy and magic of the outdoors, while educating them about conservation and caring for the environment.
This role assists with the delivery of a variety of activity sessions with young people at our woodland to engage young people aged 8-24yrs. These sessions will be led by a Woodland Trust member of staff with the aim to encourage a greater understanding and awareness of woodlands and wildlife. Sessions may include a range of different educational activities including volunteering groups for young people, work experience, school visits and more.
What you will be doing
- You will help to design and deliver sessions that will provide stimulating opportunities to learn about and explore wildlife and the woodland.
- To contribute to our programme of educational visits helping to create engaging activities for young people
- Liaise with your volunteer manager to ensure risk assessments are in place for any activities, supporting your volunteer manager to liaise with supervising adults from visiting groups to ensure allowance is made for any individual needs or support
- Operate within our Volunteer Charter, policies, procedures, and guidelines

- Ability to communicate effectively with the public
- Some experience and an interest in working with children and young people
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- A friendly and positive outlook and the ability to relate to children in an enthusiastic, responsible and polite manner.
- Confidence to deliver activities with minimal supervision
- A sensible regard for health and safety
