The Woodhouse Partnership Ltd, part of RSK Group, is hiring for a Product Technical Specialist to join the team on a Hybrid basis from the head office in Kingsclere, Newbury, Hampshire, UK. The purpose of the role is to strengthen TWPL’s Decision Support Tool capability by combining technical excellence, data analytics, and client consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Enablement and Roadmap Input: Gather structured feedback from clients and consultants; translate into user stories and acceptance criteria for development. Participate in product testing and quality assurance; define test scenarios; validate releases against real-world use cases. Maintain documentation: configuration guides; release notes; how-to articles; integration and data management notes.
  • Technical Implementation and Configuration: Configure and validate decision models: value frameworks; risk and consequence modelling; lifecycle cost assumptions; portfolio constraints and scenarios. Prepare and cleanse data with clients; define minimum viable datasets; establish repeatable data pipelines and quality checks. Design scenario and sensitivity analyses; present implications for investment portfolios; support executive decision forums.
  • Client Consulting and Value Realisation: Facilitate discovery workshops and model calibration sessions; align analytics with organisational objectives and constraints. Deliver annual health checks; benchmark usage; recommend improvements that increase realised value. Provide Tier 2 technical support for complex issues; collaborate with developers on fixes and enhancements.
  • Training Development and Delivery: Design and deliver client and internal training: user onboarding; analyst deep dives; administrator training; train-the-trainer pathways. Create practical exercises, datasets, and assessment items; measure learning transfer and adoption. Support the Academy with course content that embeds the Decision Support Tool into capability development programmes.
  • Data, BI, and Advanced Analytics: Build dashboards and reports that communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences, using Power BI or Tableau or similar. Develop analytical workflows in Python or R or SAS or SQL as appropriate; prototype predictive or optimisation models where valuable. Apply data governance principles: data lineage; quality rules; auditability of assumptions and changes.
  • Pre-sales, Marketing, and Evangelism: Build and run tailored product demonstrations; support discovery calls; contribute to proposals and method statements. Produce technical collateral: case studies; ROI narratives; solution briefs; conference presentations. Participate in user community events; capture success stories and best practices for broader reuse.

Person Specification:

  • Ideally 4 to 7 years in technical consulting or product specialist roles within analytics, asset management, or decision support, ideally in B2B or professional services.
  • Proven configuration of decision or investment models: lifecycle cost modelling; risk and consequence analysis; portfolio constraints; scenario and sensitivity analysis.
  • Client-facing delivery experience: workshops; stakeholder facilitation; executive presentations; strong written and visual communication.
  • Hands-on data work: advanced Excel; practical data wrangling; understanding of data quality and lineage.
  • Training design and delivery for professional audiences; evidence of strong learner feedback and adoption.
  • Experience collaborating with software development teams: user stories; testing; release readiness.

Desirables:

  • Experience with enterprise asset management or ERP systems: IBM Maximo; SAP, for data extraction, configuration integration, and process alignment.
  • Proficiency with SAS for data analysis, reporting, or model development; ability to complement Python or R or SQL workflows.
  • Exposure to reliability engineering, maintenance strategy, and ISO 55000 principles; familiarity with cost of risk, availability, and performance trade-offs.
  • Experience with portfolio optimisation methods; understanding of constraints and objective functions; comfort interpreting solver outputs.
  • Basic scripting or query skills, for example SQL or Python, suitable for prototyping and internal tooling.
  • Sector familiarity in at least one TWPL core area; ability to contextualise analytics in real operational settings.
  • Degree in Engineering; Operations Research; Data Science; Applied Mathematics; Finance; Economics; or a closely related field.
  • Professional development in asset management or analytics is advantageous; IAM pathway or equivalent preferred or willingness to pursue.
