The ideal candidate is an experienced Warehouse Manager with a strong background in high-volume, fast-paced environments—preferably within food manufacturing or FMCG. You will have proven experience in managing and developing warehouse teams, demonstrating a hands-on leadership style that focuses on performance, accountability, and team engagement. Confident in overseeing day-to-day operations, you will lead by example to ensure the warehouse runs efficiently and safely.
You should possess solid knowledge of stock control, inventory accuracy, and warehouse management systems (WMS), alongside a clear understanding of food safety and health & safety regulations. A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, combined with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence, is essential. Strong organisational abilities and excellent cross-functional communication skills will enable effective collaboration with colleagues across Production, Quality, and Supply Chain, supporting wider business goals.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring all operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and in line with company procedures and food safety standards.
- Lead, manage, and develop the warehouse team, setting clear performance expectations and providing ongoing coaching and support.
- Maintain accurate stock control, including regular cycle counts and full stocktakes, and investigate any discrepancies.
- Ensure timely and accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods to meet production and customer requirements.
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Production, and Quality teams to support smooth operations and minimise downtime.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation and company policies, promoting a strong safety culture across the team.
- Identify and implement process improvements to drive operational efficiency and reduce waste.
- Manage warehouse layout and space utilisation to support productivity and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and report any issues promptly.
- Produce regular reports on warehouse KPIs, stock accuracy, and team performance for senior management.
- Support audits and ensure the warehouse is always audit-ready in line with food industry standards (e.g., BRC, SALSA).
