This role is pivotal in monitoring, maintaining and successfully implementing these frameworks across both our Retail (Kiosks) and Restaurant channels, ensuring compliance, consistency, and the highest standards of safety. Key Responsibilities

Brand Protection: Protect the brands under which we operate through the rigorous development and application of best-in-class Food Safety and Health & Safety protocols.

Safety Culture & Leadership: Protect the safety of our customers, contractors, partners and team members through development of processes and controls for Fire prevention and Health & Safety.

Skills Excellence: Demonstrate exceptional planning, coaching, analytical, implementation, training, and communication skills (both written and verbal) to maintain high safety standards.

Project management: Lead and execute key safety projects that drive continuous improvement and ensure consistent adherence to safety practices. Key Requirements

Safety KPIs: Ensure Safety KPIs(including audit number & results, corrective actions, due diligence scores, FHRS rating) for the sites in the region are met. Lead & manage direct reports to deliver on Safety priorities.

Risk Assessments: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement necessary controls and procedures, ensuring a safe workplace environment free of health risks. Maintain the highest standards of food safety consistently across all brands.

HACCP Ownership: Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of HACCP plans for both Retail and Restaurant operations.
•
Policy Adherence: Ensure all Health & Safety and Food Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are adhered to, aligning with Retail and Restaurant Partners' requirements.
Regularly review, update, and communicate policies to ensure continued compliance.
•
Incident Prevention and Complaint Handling: Establish and enforce stringent processes to prevent food safety incidents. Manage serious food safety complaints, including allergies, alleged foreign bodies, and alleged food poisoning.
Ensure complaints are properly documented, investigated, and responded to, with recommended improvements implemented.

Training Development: Collaborate with the L&D team to develop and deliver training materials for Food Safety and Health & Safety, with a focus on allergen management.

Technical Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with technical counterparts at partner organizations & suppliers to ensure product safety and specification assurance. Role:

Conduct Supplier audits and surveillance testing based on risk rating and agreed program. Management & implementation of allergen policy & process.

External Audit Management: Act as the primary relationship owner with external audit partners. Optimize costs, define audit frameworks, and report on audit results.
•
Internal Audits: Support with & conduct internal audits, prioritizing sites requiring the most attention. Review auditing process & analyse trends to drive improvement in standards.
•
Regulatory Compliance: Support the achievement of top ratings in local authority food hygiene inspections. Liaise with Local Authority Inspectors and enforcement officials when required.
•
Project Leadership: Lead projects aimed at Consistent and Never-Ending Improvement (CANI).
•
Statutory Obligations: Ensure all kiosks & restaurants meet their statutory obligations regarding health, safety, and welfare at work, including statutory training.
•
Industry Updates: Stay informed of innovations and developments in Food Safety and Health & Safety to ensure compliance and best practices.
•
Systems Update & Maintenance: Manage and update all content within the Compliance Centre, Safety Culture and Trail app to reflect current standards and policies.
•
Accident Management: Document and investigate all workplace accidents, ensuring recommended improvements are implemented. Trending analysis to reduce the risk and numbers of cases.

Safety Inspections and Lone Working: Plan & conduct safety inspections, manage lone working procedures, and ensure team awareness and compliance with responsibilities.

Safety Culture: Lead by example. Attend & present business meetings to help drive Safety agenda. Build strong relationships and exploit various communication channels to help drive Safety culture within business.
You are..
•
Qualified: Hold a Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety and Health & Safety in a catering or food retail environment, along with Level 3 HACCP or higher.
•
Experienced: Brings extensive experience in Food Safety and Health & Safety, particularly in retail, restaurant or similar environments, with a deep understanding of channel-specific challenges.
Proficient in conducting risk assessments, developing HACCP plans, and creating and refining operating procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
•
Strong Communication: Demonstrates exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and impactful presentations.
•
Organized and Efficient: Excels in planning, organization, and time management, ensuring timely and effective completion of tasks and projects.
•
Proactive and Assertive: Works independently to identify and resolve issues, while collaborating effectively with others to implement improvements. Can assertively ensure compliance when necessary.
