About The Role

The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is looking for a dedicated and organised Operations Assistant (Onsite Volunteer) to lead and rebuild our flagship Baby Bank service in Wolverhampton. This is a rewarding opportunity to take ownership of a vital community service supporting families with children and ensuring they receive essential items and compassionate support during challenging times.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Service Leadership
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Baby Bank
- Coordinate referrals and client appointments
- Deliver a welcoming, safe, and dignified service to families
- Volunteer Management
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers
- Build a structured and sustainable volunteer programme
- Monitor engagement, performance, and retention
- Stock & Inventory
- Oversee donations, sorting, and distribution
- Maintain organised storage and tracking systems
- Monitor stock levels and ensure quality standards
- Corporate Engagement
- Organise and manage corporate volunteer days
- Build relationships with local business partners
- Administration & Systems
- Maintain accurate records and reporting systems
- Support digital process improvements and workflow organisation
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations
- Impact & Reporting
- Track service outputs and outcomes
- Support funding applications and reporting requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in operations, charity, or community service roles is desirable.
- Background in team or volunteer management
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office and digital systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- A compassionate, empathetic approach when working with vulnerable families
- Ability to bring structure and efficiency to a growing service
Volunteer Commitment
- Minimum 12 hours per week
- Attend agreed shifts consistently
- Complete induction and participate in a 6-week review
