Key Responsibilities

  • To deliver outstanding learning opportunities and exceptional care, in accordance with all policies and all relevant legislation, together with Local Authority and Ofsted requirements.
  • To support the learning of children, aged 1-4 years, by providing high quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • To provide a stimulating and nurturing environment for all children.
  • To support children’s personal, social, emotional and physical development.
  • To plan and provide effective teaching and learning and to ensure the provision is of the highest quality, providing a safe, stimulating and caring child-centred environment catering for the children’s educational and developmental needs.
  • To provide a patient, caring and enthusiastic approach.
  • To display strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • To safeguard and promote the health, safety and welfare of children and to ensure that all agreed quality and safety standards are maintained in the nursery at all times.
  • To prepare and supervise children’s activities.
  • To communicate with colleagues and parents/carers to meet the individual needs of the children and ensure high levels of involvement and parent/carer satisfaction at all times.
  • To make accurate and effective assessments of the children on our learning portal.
  • To facilitate pick-ups and drop-offs.
  • To build positive relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues.
  • To ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times.
  • To promote positive behaviour and inclusion.
  • To assist with daily routines, including meals, toileting and rest times.
  • To follow health and safety policies and maintain a clean environment.
  • To be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to uphold its standards at all times.

Qualifications

  • You will be an Early Years Educator with a passion for giving children the very best start in life.
  • Paediatric first aid or willingness to obtain qualification.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
  • A relevant Early Year’s qualification at Level 2 or above is desirable.
  • You will be an energetic and enthusiastic individual with a real passion for childcare and a wish to work with children to enable them to fulfil their greatest potential.
  • If you are unqualified, you must have previous childcare/Early Years’ experience or the ambition to have a career in Early Years.
  • You should be willing to train or gain qualifications within childcare/Early Years.
