Role Overview: Teaching Assistant at Witherslack Group supporting children with autism spectrum disorder and other SEND needs in an independent specialist day school.
Responsibilities:
- Support the teacher in planning and delivering lessons to children with autism and complex learning needs.
- Help pupils develop learning, self‑esteem and communication skills.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small group support as required.
- Assist with specialised activities and therapies worked closely with our therapists.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and well‑resourced classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- Team player with a genuine passion for supporting children to learn.
- Experience working in a classroom or care setting is preferred but not essential.
- Resilient, dedicated and able to manage demanding situations.
