Those Huge Small Victories

Join us in our Children's Homes, where every day is an opportunity to make a real difference in a young person's life. As a support worker, you'll be there for the highest highs and the lowest lows, helping our young people reclaim their childhood and pave the way to becoming well-rounded adults. It's a rewarding journey filled with challenges and those incredible moments that feel like huge small victories!

Our homes provide a nurturing environment for young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs. We strive to create the best possible outcomes for those in our care, celebrating even the smallest positive changes. Your role will be pivotal in making these moments happen.

Get Out What You Put In

As a support worker, you'll be at the heart of our young people's daily lives, ensuring everything runs smoothly while creating lasting memories. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Helping young people get ready for school and assisting with homework.
  • Completing necessary paperwork and planning engaging activities.
  • Making evenings and weekends fun with games, movie days, or exciting outings like go-karting.

Bring Your Whole Self to Work

At Witherslack Group, we celebrate diversity because it makes us stronger. Our young people come from various backgrounds and have unique needs, and our workforce reflects that diversity. You don't need prior experience, but we're looking for:

  • A 'can do' attitude and a team player spirit.
  • Genuine care for our young people and each other, with honesty and empathy.
  • The resilience to handle challenging situations.
  • A full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months.
  • If you don't have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), we'll support you in obtaining it.

You’ll kick off your journey as a Residential Support Worker with our 'Care Academy'-a 4-week training program designed to equip you with the skills and confidence to support our young people effectively.
