Eligibility and Credentials
Qualified professional or accredited counsellor eligible for membership of BACP or a similar professional body; additional mental health or therapeutic intervention qualifications desirable. Well versed in child development and able to connect effectively with young people. Highly organized and ready to take initiative. Honesty and empathy are a must, as we genuinely care about our young people and each other.
Key Responsibilities
As part of a multi‑disciplinary clinical team based at Avon Park School, you will support educational and residential colleagues to provide therapeutic living and learning environments. Based on clinical assessment and formulation you will offer individualised interventions and engagement to young people, assess their mental health, and recommend appropriate interventions in a personalised care plan. Building rapport is key; through this you will deliver effective counselling and provide feedback on progress.
