Job Overview
Working in our Children’s Homes means being part of a young person’s day‑to‑day life. Our night support workers enable our young people to gain their childhood back and create pathways to become well‑rounded adults. This role involves providing support during the night and completing routine tasks such as paperwork, cleaning and laundry. You will be trusted by the young people and will respond to situations such as trauma, illness or insomnia.
Job Details
Hours: Waking nights (4 on / 4 off)
Responsibilities
You will take care of the home and our young people through the night. You will respond to emergencies, provide emotional support and help young people with severe trauma or medical needs. During quieter periods you will perform routine tasks that keep the home running smoothly.
Qualifications
- A can‑do attitude – a team player who rolls up their sleeves to help others
- Honesty, empathy and a genuine care for young people and each other
- Resilience to deal with challenging situations
- A full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). If you do not hold this qualification we will pay for you to study and support you.
Training and Progression
You’ll start life as an NSO by joining our Care Academy – 4 weeks of off‑the‑job training with experienced professionals to build confidence and enable you to support our young people effectively.
Progression opportunities exist: many of our leaders and managers have been promoted from within the group and you could join our Aspire future managers programme.
