- Job Responsibilities
- Understand the developmental needs of young people with BESD or ASD and provide appropriate pastoral care.
- Listen attentively, motivate, and work collaboratively within a team to inspire young people to achieve.
- Maintain flexibility and good organisational skills to support the Witherslack Group’s high staff‑to‑child ratio.
- Support and resolve difficulties for pupils with ASC, ADHD, or SEMH and work with families in challenging circumstances.
- Engage in multi‑agency work, applying knowledge of safeguarding and child protection legislation, policies and guidance.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience working with young people with BESD or ASD in a school or care setting.
- Previous experience with ASC, ADHD or SEMH pupils and working with families in challenging circumstances.
- Experience of multi‑agency work and knowledge of safeguarding legislation and guidance.
- NVQ Level 3 in Care or Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred).
