As a Technology Teacher at Witherslack Group, you will be more than a teacher; you will connect with pupils by:

You’ll also need previous teaching experience and have Qualified Teacher Status. Preferred experience includes:

  • Special Education / Careers in Care / Careers in Special Education
  • Working with Children / SEMH / SEN / ASD

Responsibilities:

  • Teach the full Design and Technology curriculum across all key areas.
  • Work with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, supporting their learning, ability development and self‑esteem.
  • Provide a supportive learning environment, collaborate with in‑house psychologists, teaching assistants and therapy professionals, and contribute to a rewarding teaching career.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Full‑time teaching experience, especially in Technology
  • Experience working with children with SEN, ASD, SEMH or similar needs
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a ‘can do’ attitude

Working Conditions: Our new Castlefell School is a purpose‑built, brand new, state‑of‑the‑art facility catering primarily for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, and also for children with autism who have moderate learning needs. The school provides education for up to 50 children aged 8 to 16 and is part of the Rudgeway and wider community.
