Responsibilities include teaching children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, helping them learn, develop abilities, and raise self-esteem. Build strong relationships with each pupil, relating the subject to their individual needs. Work collaboratively with psychologists, teaching assistants, and therapy professionals to support students’ progress. Maintain a resilient and dedicated approach, celebrating the small victories that contribute to significant positive change. Adhere to safeguarding and welfare procedures, including an enhanced DBS check and online search.

Qualifications required are previous teaching experience in a SEND setting, Qualified Teacher Status, strong relational skills, and a genuine passion for teacher impact. The ability to relate the subject to each pupil and build great relationships with the class is essential. Resilience, dedication, and the enthusiasm to develop expertise within the department are also important. Exemption and supporting skills to work with pupils having Special Educational Needs are necessary.
