Are you passionate about community engagement and building partnerships that make a real difference? Do you want a role where your work helps vulnerable households access vital support during the colder months? If so, The Wise Group would love to hear from you.
We are recruiting Community Engagement Officers to join our Home Energy Advice Team (HEAT) as part of our Seasonal Team, supporting increased demand for services across autumn, winter and early spring. These fixed-term roles run from July 2026 to March 2027 and are critical to ensuring households experiencing or at risk of fuel poverty are identified early and connected to the support available.
The Wise Group is committed to lifting people out of poverty and helping individuals and families build brighter futures. Through our HEAT service, we provide practical, independent advice and hands-on support to households struggling with energy costs.
Community Engagement Officers play a key role in ensuring this support reaches those who need it most by building strong relationships with partners and communities. In this role, you will engage with local organisations, community groups, housing providers, charities, and other stakeholders to raise awareness of the HEAT service and develop effective referral pathways. You will promote the service through meetings, presentations, outreach activity, and networking, helping partners understand how we can support the people they work with.
You will also work closely with the operational team to ensure referrals are appropriate, timely and aligned with service capacity. This is a proactive and externally focused role that requires strong communication skills, confidence building relationships and the ability to work independently.
Activity levels increase significantly during autumn and winter when demand for support grows, and you will play an important part in ensuring a steady flow of high-quality referrals during this period. We are looking for individuals who are confident communicators, organised and motivated by making a difference in communities. You will enjoy building partnerships, identifying opportunities and working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a high-impact service.
Experience in community engagement, partnership working, outreach or stakeholder management would be beneficial, but most important is your ability to connect with people and communicate the value of the service. These roles form part of our Seasonal Team, created to strengthen referral generation and partnership activity during the busiest period of the year.
You will receive full training and onboarding to ensure you are confident promoting the service and contributing to successful delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a purpose-driven organisation while helping households access support when they need it most. Your work will directly contribute to warmer homes, reduced financial pressure and improved wellbeing for communities across the areas we serve.
To apply, please send a tailored CV and covering letter to WiseGroup@LHH.com by midnight on Sunday May 3. Please note that the covering letter should be no more than two pages of A4 and should summarise your relevant skills, experience, and motivations for applying for this role.
