An amazing opportunity has arisen at The Winston Churchill School, which is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, ambitious Drama teacher who is creative, motivated and keen to lead our outstanding Drama Department and to work with our award-winning Music Department. The successful candidate will be ambitious for the students and create challenging and inspiring experiences for children, especially through our annual musical production, which usually involves up to 300 children. These productions are well-known in the area and most recently received national recognition when we were finalists in the Music and Drama Awards for Musical Theatre.
Responsibilities
- Teach KS3 & KS4 drama, delivering innovative and creative lessons.
- Lead the Drama Department, working closely with the Music Department.
- Organise and oversee the annual musical production, coordinating up to 300 participants.
- Strive for County and National recognition for the Drama department.
- Support students’ progress, fostering a love of performance and personal development.
Qualifications
- Strong subject knowledge in Drama.
- Passion for supporting young people to make progress.
- Experience teaching KS3 & KS4 is desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively with music staff and other teachers.
Requirements
