Learning Support Assistant
Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our Active Department at our Berkshire College of Agriculture campus on a full‑time, term‑time only basis.
This role involves working 37 hours per week over 37 term‑time weeks per year.
The salary is on Scale G of the Support Staff pay scale: a pro‑rated salary of G17 £21,166.19 up to G19 £22,662.10 (FTE G17 £25,483 up to G19 £27,284).
Learning Support Assistants are vital to Windsor Forest Colleges Group, helping students fully access the curriculum, achieve their learning goals and fulfil their potential.
The post reports to the Head of Department under the supervision of senior academic staff and lecturers.
You will support whole classes, small groups or individual students in accordance with college policies and individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
Key responsibilities include
- Assisting with the planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning activities.
- Helping students overcome physical, emotional, or learning boundaries.
- Assisting with assignments, exam preparation, and the development of English, mathematics, and ICT skills.
- Monitoring student behaviour, maintaining confidential records, adapting learning materials, and supporting the use of specialist equipment.
Required qualifications and experience
- Level 2 qualifications (GCSE grade A‑C or equivalent) in both English and Mathematics.
- Relevant qualifications or experience supporting individuals with learning difficulties such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.
- Positive attitude, experience working with young adults (ideally in education) and flexibility to work across various departments or remotely online if necessary.
- Strong organisational skills, a proactive approach and ability to meet the physical demands of the post.
- Commitment to the college’s policies on Risk Management, Diversity and Equality, Health and Safety, Data Protection and Safeguarding.
