The Windsor Forest Colleges Group is looking for a Foundation Tutor at Entry level 1 to join our Berkshire College of Agriculture team starting in September 2026 on a permanent, part-time basis.

The position of Foundation Tutor entails delivering high-quality teaching and assessment in specific subject areas, aimed at providing an excellent education and training experience while promoting active student learning. This role offers a permanent part-time academic contract working 22.2 hours per week and pays on the Academic Pay Scale (T1 £18,979.80 – T11 £27,204.60).

Key responsibilities:
  • The effective delivery of teaching programmes, regular assessments of student progress, and the preparation of comprehensive progress reports.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely student records, including attendance and examination results, and upholding student morale and discipline in collaboration with College Management.
  • Keeping abreast of developments in the curriculum and syllabus that are relevant to their teaching areas.
  • Working collaboratively within the team to devise, review, and enhance teaching and learning strategies.
  • Supporting and organising extracurricular activities vital for students’ career and personal development.
  • Contributing to outreach and liaison work within the community and external organisations.
  • Participating in the college’s appraisal and performance-management processes, staying updated through professional development activities, establishing industry links, attending relevant college events such as parents’ evenings.
  • Developing or enhancing existing courses and, when needed, undertaking course coordination responsibilities.
Qualifications and experience:
  • A relevant degree or Level 3 Vocational Qualification, and a teaching qualification.
  • Willingness to work towards other certifications such as TAQA/A1 and V1 awards.
  • Experience teaching, especially across various levels in foundation learning and in SEND education.
  • Skills in embedding English and Maths into the curriculum.
  • Proficiency in IT applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to motivate students.
  • Strong administrative capabilities, a flexible work approach, and effective interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for teaching and learning, and commitment to the college’s Diversity & Equality, risk management, health and safety, safeguarding, and data protection policies.
