Safeguarding sits at the heart of Windsor Forest Colleges Group, and as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead at Strode's College, you will play a central role in protecting, supporting, and advocating for our vibrant student community. Reporting directly to the Director of Safeguarding (DSL) and Wellbeing, this role shares essential responsibility for embedding statutory safeguarding standards, promoting an environment free from discrimination and harassment, and upholding student wellbeing and morale across the campus.
Beyond day-to-day welfare monitoring, your duties will focus heavily on case management, inter-agency collaboration, and statutory intervention. You will represent the college in key multi-agency forums, including Child Protection conferences, Early Help Assessments (EHA), Team Around the Family (TAF), Child in Need (CiN), and Personal Education Plan (PEP) meetings, while contributing directly to Section 17/Section 47 assessments and Channel/radicalisation referrals. Serving as an expert adviser, you will upskill staff on complex protection issues, including FGM and radicalisation awareness, with a sharp focus on vulnerable groups, SEN learners, and young carers. Furthermore, you will manage robust record-keeping via CPOMS and ILPs in compliance with GDPR, oversee secure file transfers, handle sensitive allegations involving staff alongside senior leadership, link with the Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB), and assist the DSL with official governance reporting.
To be considered for this full-time post, candidates must demonstrate high levels of professional competence and proven safeguarding experience within education, social care, or vocational environments. Essential requirements include Level 2 qualifications (GCSE grade 4/C or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, outstanding accuracy in record-keeping, and a thorough appreciation of current youth legislation.
