Purpose of the Role To provide exceptional and inspiring teaching within the Social Sciences, delivering high‑quality learning that empowers our young men to achieve their full academic potential. Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Excellence & "Uno Animo" Deliver a visionary Law curriculum across A‑Level and Applied BTEC, designed to challenge every student to exceed expectations in legal theory and statutory interpretation. Lead the planning and sequencing of Law modules (e.g., Criminal, Tort, and Public Law), ensuring relevance to real‑world readiness and cultivating Determination. Collaborate closely with Windsor Girls’ School to ensure equitable, enriching Law opportunities for all students across both upper schools, fostering a shared teamwork ethos.
- Teaching and Learning Excellence Deliver engaging Law lessons to students of all abilities, fostering a passion for legal debate and case analysis driven by Ambition and Creativity. Act as a role model for outstanding classroom practice, promoting a learning environment where boys feel confident to take intellectual risks. Ensure effective differentiation for all learners, including SEND and high‑attainers, enabling every student to achieve his individual potential with Respect.
- Academic Leadership & Management Maintain accurate and efficient records of student attainment and BTEC internal verification processes. Manage Law resources effectively, ensuring students have access to current legal materials and digital databases. Utilise data effectively to identify underachieving students and implement targeted interventions so no boy is left behind.
- Extra‑Curricular & Vocational Links Organise and promote Law‑related enrichment, such as Mock Trial competitions, university masterclasses, and visits to the Courts. Develop links with the local legal community to provide "real‑world" insights and career opportunities, demonstrating teamwork beyond the school gates. Support students with UCAS applications, LNAT preparation, and law‑based apprenticeship pathways.
