Are you passionate about improving construction health and safety standards and driving a culture of proactive risk management? Bristol City Council is looking for a knowledgeable and forward‑thinking CDM Compliance Manager to lead our compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 across a diverse and exciting portfolio of projects.
As our CDM Compliance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring CDM requirements are embedded throughout the design and construction lifecycle. You will lead on the development and implementation of policies, frameworks and procedures to support duty holders, improve safety performance and champion best practice.
You will work collaboratively with project teams, designers, contractors and health and safety colleagues across the organisation to ensure a consistent, high‑quality approach to compliance. Regular site monitoring, audits and reviews will underpin your responsibility to maintain safe, legally compliant working environments.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll have NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (or equivalent) and professional membership and strong experience managing CDM responsibilities within complex or public‑sector construction environments. You will be a confident communicator with excellent negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to plan strategically, lead change, and deliver assurance in a multi‑project environment. You will be committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.
