Role Overview
The Wild Duck is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Sous Chef to support the leadership of our kitchen team. This is a hands-on role working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver high-quality, seasonal dishes while maintaining excellent kitchen standards. The successful candidate will play an important role in day-to-day kitchen operations, team development, and ensuring a consistently exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the daily running of the kitchen.
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of high-quality, seasonal dishes in line with the restaurant’s standards.
- Help lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen team during service.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards at all times.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising kitchen waste.
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest quality.
- Step in to lead sections and services when required.
- Support training and development of junior kitchen staff.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a quality kitchen environment.
- Demonstrates strong organisational and communication skills.
