Wiggett Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to oversee and deliver its Electrical Installation Condition Reporting (EICR) and electrical installation programme across the Hounslow Council social housing portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all operational, commercial, and compliance aspects of the electrical contract, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required regulatory and client standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall management of the electrical contract for Hounslow Council’s social housing stock
- Planning, coordinating, and delivering EICR inspections and remedial works programmes
- Managing electrical installation works including upgrades, rewires, and compliance improvements
- Direct management of supervisors, electricians, subcontractors, and administrative support staff
- Ensuring full compliance with: BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), NICEIC / NAPIT requirements, Health & Safety at Work Act & HSG and Social Housing regulatory standards
- Acting as the primary point of contact for the client, attending progress meetings and reviews
- Monitoring KPIs, productivity, quality, and client satisfaction
- Managing budgets, variations, forecasting, and cost control
- Ensuring accurate certification, documentation, and data submission in line with client systems
- Implementing and maintaining safe systems of work, RAMS, and toolbox talks
- Supporting continuous improvement and contract performance optimisation
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience as an Electrical Contracts Manager or Senior Electrical Supervisor
- Strong background in EICR programmes within social housing or local authority environments
- Experience managing high-volume, occupied-property electrical works
- Excellent knowledge of electrical compliance, testing, and certification
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines effectively
- Confident communicator with experience dealing directly with local authority clients
- Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and variations
Qualifications & Certifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent) – essential
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations – essential
- AM2 – essential
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence (max 6 points) – essential
- Clean Criminal History - essential
- Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent) – highly desirable
