The Production Technician will ensure the most efficient running of the assets within their area assigned through the effective setting, monitoring and maintenance for which they are responsible and will assist with the day‑to‑day mechanical breakdowns of equipment, reporting any issues over technical ability to maintenance. To train and guide other operators in the areas for use of best practice in running the assets. To qualify as a Production Operator Level 2, you must be trained on 2 Assets and in training on a 3rd Asset or be able to drive a counterbalance or Combi Forklift.

Responsibilities

  • To work in a production environment successfully operating different machinery as required.
  • Produce products in line with Company output rates.
  • Follow all Company safety procedures.
  • Comply with work instructions.
  • Comply with all quality documents and procedures.
  • Follow production schedules as required and meet deadlines.
  • Fill in the required SAP information and downtime data.
  • To produce good quality product in line with the Quality guidelines.
  • Use of forklift truck in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Record any scrap on the system.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work station in line with 5S standards.
  • To train on multiple types of machinery for flexibility.
  • To operate all machine controls, which are a combination of mechanical, push button and computer key/touch pads.
  • Fault find on daily generic issues, escalating complex faults to the Team Leader.
  • Inspection of production first offs to ensure rejects are not passed on through the process and high standards of quality are achieved.
  • Good attention to detail to highlight any issues or defects.
  • Computer literate.
