The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands; we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.
We are looking for a HR Apprentice to join our busy and growing organisation. The HR Apprentice will be responsible for effectively responding to queries, managing the administration of the employee life cycle, providing basic employee relations advice and supporting the HRBPs and HR Coordinators. The ideal candidate will be proactive with an eagerness to learn and develop a career within HR.
Key Responsibilities

  • Responding appropriately to queries in the shared inbox
  • Administration of the employee lifecycle including the processing of new joiners and leavers, contractual changes and updating of information as required
  • Monitoring absences and informing managers and payroll where necessary and ensuring all paperwork is received and filed
  • Note taking at employee meetings including disciplinaries and investigations
  • Liaising with other key parties such as payroll and department managers
  • Supporting the HRBPs in the implementation of new projects, procedures and policies
  • Maintenance of various records and trackers and producing reports
  • Use of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for advertising, screening and arranging interviews with candidates
  • Completion of reference checks for employees in key roles and any other relevant employment checks
Essential Skills & Experience
  • 4 x GCSE Grades 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent, including English & Maths,
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including use of Microsoft Office
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Previous work experience within an administration role or HR function
