The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands, we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe. We are looking for a Head of Sales to play a key role in shaping and delivering the sales growth strategy within the Whittan Lockers business unit. You will report directly to the Managing Director and senior leadership team but will take the lead on driving performance, developing talent and achieving KPIs across the wider sales and support teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Selling a high-quality manufactured range of storage products such as lockers, cloakroom products, shelving, cupboards, cabinets.
  • Managing a large team comprising Business Development and Sales functions.
  • Tasked with the overall growth and tactical direction of the sales team.
  • Manage sales pipeline and quote bank with clear sales KPIs.
  • Overall accountability for all sales territories.
  • Selling to distributors, dealers, FF&E companies, local authorities, end users.
  • Dealing with order values ranging from £100-£80k with typical orders ranging from £5,000-£25k.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, events, and conduct company CPD presentations to clients where needed.
  • Being aware of competitors products and activities including new products, strategies, and marketing campaigns.
  • Regular contact with Group Sales Director with sales plans and future growth plans.
  • Working in conjunction with a very effective internal team that will assist with generating leads and supporting the sales and business development function.
  • Will be responsible for specific training of all salespeople.

Essential skills/qualifications/experience:

  • Significant experience in managing FM or R&M teams is essential with ideally at least 5 years' experience at this level of seniority.
  • With longevity demonstrated through previous employment, the ideal candidate will have experience leading and aligning a team and have excellent communication/customer service skills.
  • Must be a good team player and an effective communicator and have an ability to address customer needs effectively and build customer relationships.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail aligned with a proven understanding of budget control.
