The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands, we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.
We are looking for a Goods in Operative to manage and unload all inbound materials safely and securely, ensuring all materials are accurate and meet required quality standards. The Goods in Operative will also ensure records and paperwork are well managed, accurate and kept up to date.
The hours of work are Monday β Thursday 06:00 -18:00.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety and COSHH procedures, identifying non-conformance and risks and reporting these to the team leader.
- Follow all agreed operational and company processes and procedures and, where possible, identify areas of improvement and report as such to the line manager or member of SHEQ Department.
- Ensure all vehicles are unloaded/reloaded safely and in line with suppliers and production requirements.
- Monitor and raise any quality issues identified with materials with team leader so corrective actions can be taken.
- Oversee the stock in the goods in area, keeping data updated and reporting any issues that may result in inbound vehicles being turned away.
- Ensure the goods in area is kept in good order, clean, tidy and well organised.
- Liaise with purchasing to define inbound profile by day based on storage and operational capacity.
- Ensure that production have all the relevant materials required as per the production plan.
- Counterbalance Forklift licence.
- Overhead crane operator experience.
- High level of numeracy accuracy and the ability to read and understand orders.
- Demonstrable knowledge of loading competency and load safety.
- Good communication skills.
- Combi Truck licence.
- In date Overhead crane operator certificate.
- Minimum two yearsβ experience in warehouse operations.
