Chef Requirements
- Be a strong Chef, with the ability to train, coach and develop junior chefs
- At least 1 year experience as a Chef
- Right to Work in the UK
- Excellent culinary and presentation skills
Chef Responsibilities
- Cooks guests' orders according to their preferences
- Is an expert at grilling steaks to perfection
- Employs food safety best practices and makes sure that all kitchen staff members do the same
- Acts with appropriate caution in a dangerous environment where there are knives and high-temperature surfaces
- Experiments to come up with new specialties that will draw diners into the restaurant
- Coaches other chefs and other members of the kitchen staff, so they perform at their best
- Keeps up with trends in cooking and the restaurant business to ensure that guests have a positive experience
- Works quickly and accurately during busy periods, such as weekends and evenings
- Occasionally takes on extra duties, such as cleaning, when the kitchen is short-staffed or the restaurant is particularly busy
- Takes direction and works with the restaurant's administrative team

We own a collection of beautiful and individual premium pubs across Southern England. Our pubs are in idyllic settings in country villages and towns, where we are proud to be the quality local of the area, serving high quality fresh pub food in a cozy pub ambience. Most of our pubs have some charming bedrooms as well. New to our growing family is Harper’s Steakhouse, a new premium American Steakhouse brand that we started rolling out last year. It’s an exciting time to join us! Upham Inns is growing, and we want you to grow with us and be part of our success. We’ve been busy investing in our business and we are seeing some great results. So, we want to continue to grow our pub family and we are looking to recruit passionate people into our team.
