Working as part of the Brand Marketing function, the Retail & Events Manageris responsible forcreating and delivering distinctive, customer-first experiences across The White Company retail estate. The role leads the planning and delivery of seasonal retail activations, store events and local moments that bring the brand purpose to life, drivefootfalland support commercial priorities. Working closely with Marketing, Retail and Creative teams, the role ensures every experience is beautifully executed, locally relevant and measurable.
Retail and Events Leadership
You will shape the annual retail and events programme, turning campaign and product priorities into compelling in-store customer moments. You will combine creative judgement with commercial rigour, setting clear standards for planning, delivery and evaluation across every activation and event.

What you’ll be doing
Retail and Events Strategy and Delivery
- Own the annual retail and events plan and budget, aligning activity to seasonal priorities, commercialobjectivesand customer needs.
- Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of a programme of retail activations, store events and local experiences, with clear plans, timelines, owners and success measures.
- Create memorable in-store customer moments that bring campaigns, product launches and brand stories to life across the retail estate.
- Lead retail activation planning for new store openings, ensuring each launch has a clear local strategy and compelling customer proposition.
- Develop seasonal activation toolkits that enable stores to execute consistently while allowing for local relevance.
- Set the creative and operational brief for each activation, working with internal teams and suppliers to deliver to brand standards.
- Manage the end-to-end customer journey for retail activations and events, ensuring each touchpoint is considered from invitation and booking through to in-store delivery and follow-up.
- Lead cross-functional project teams across Brand, Retail, Creative, CRM, Social and Operations to deliver activity on time and to budget.
- Present plans, performance and recommendations to senior stakeholders, clearly communicating priorities, progress, risks and opportunities.
- Regularly visit stores, sites and catchments to understand customer behaviour, local opportunity and execution quality.
Measurement and Optimisation
- Define success measures for each activity, balancing brand engagement, customer acquisition, store footfall,salesand advocacy.
- Own the reporting framework for retail and events activity, using performance data and customer feedback to evaluate impact.
- Work closely with Insight and CRM teams to apply customer data and listening to planning,targetingand optimisation.
- Identifyand share learnings that improve future activations andestablishbest practice across the business.
- Manage agencies and suppliers, setting clear briefs,maintaininghigh creative and operational standards, and driving continuous improvement.
- Lead and develop direct reports or project resource as the function grows, creating clear accountability and a collaborative way of working.
- Stay close to relevant cultural,retailand experiential trends toidentifyopportunities that keep The White Company in-store experience fresh and distinctive.
The skills and experience you’ll need
- Substantial experience in retail marketing, events, in-storeactivationor integrated campaign delivery within a premium consumer brand.
- Proventrack recordof leading complex retail activations and events from strategy and briefing through to delivery,evaluationand optimisation.
- Strong commercial acumen, including budget ownership, performancereportingand the ability to make evidence-based recommendations.
- Excellent project and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to lead cross-functional teams and influence at senior level.
- Strong creative judgement and a detailed understanding of how to build compelling, customer-first experiences in a luxury lifestyle environment.
- Experience managing agencies and suppliers, with the ability to sethigh standardsand drive strong delivery.
- Exceptional organisation,communicationand presentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive,flexibleand solutions-focused approach, with the resilience to adapt as business priorities evolve.
