Our Role
As the jersey designer, you will design across the jersey and lounge categories. You will support the Design Manager in delivering the TWC Clothing strategy, collaborating with the BMDT teams to develop ways to build the brand image, strengthen TWC\’s market position, and increase profits through your designs. You should have an excellent eye for quality and luxury, with a sharp awareness of relevant fashion trends and an understanding of how to influence TWC customers in a timely manner.
Your contributions will include collaborating on seasonal concepts, ensuring your department\’s design direction aligns with the overall vision, and addressing new product opportunities and trends in coordination with buying teams to develop commercially viable products for TWC customers.
What you\’ll be doing
- Designing the jersey and lounge collections.
- Gathering trends and inspiration for product ranges and creating design spec packs for jerseys.
- Developing the range by working closely with buying, technical teams, and suppliers to translate designs into commercially viable products, advising on construction, details, or artworks. Ensuring the range evolves to meet TWC customer demands.
- Collaborating with the Buying and Merchandising teams to communicate ideas effectively.
- Ensuring all designs are executed on time, meeting critical path deadlines.
- Working alongside the Design Manager to produce coordinated clothing collections that can be integrated into key outfits and looks.
- Sourcing from suppliers and building strong relationships with them.
- Traveling and researching trends and product directions.
- Reacting to sales data and designing relevant ranges.
- Identifying and sourcing new yarns or components for sample development to drive product innovation.
- Maintaining an in-depth understanding of the market, competition, and customer requirements.
What skills & experience you\’ll need
- Strong experience as a womenswear designer within a premium athleisure or international fashion brand, ideally at TWC market level (entry luxury).
- Excellent sketching and CAD skills.
- A proven track record of creative and commercial success, with experience working within a retail BMDT team.
- BA degree in Fashion or Textiles Design.
