Our Role

As the jersey designer you will design across the jersey and lounge category. You will support the Design Manager in delivering TWC Clothing strategy together with the BMDT teams helping to develop ways to build the Brand image, strengthen TWC market position and increase profits through your designs. You will have an excellent eye for quality and luxury with a sharp awareness of relevant fashion trends and an understanding of how to influence TWC customer in a timely manner.

Contribution & collaboration to the seasonal concept bringing your department’s design direction and ensuring it co-ordinates and delivers the Design team’s vision.

Ensure new product opportunities and trends are addressed and working with the buying teams, ensure they are commercially and appropriately developed for TWC customer.

What you\’ll be doing

  • Designing the jersey and lounge collection.
  • Gather trends and inspiration for product ranges and create design product spec packs for jersey.
  • Constantly developing the range working closely with the buying and technical teams and suppliers to translate your designs into commercially viable product advising on construction, details, or artworks. Ensure the range evolves and continues to meet the demands of TWC customer
  • Work alongside the Buying and Merchandising teams to ensure your ideas are communicated
  • Ensure all designs are executed and meet your departments’ critical path dates
  • Working alongside the Design manager to produce a co-ordinated clothing collection with the ability to ensure your designs can be used as part of the key outfits and key looks
  • Sourcing from the supply base and building relationships with suppliers
  • Travelling and researching directional and comparative trend and product direction
  • Reacting to sales information and designing commercially relevant ranges
  • Identifying & sourcing new yarns or components for new sample development to drive new product and range development for the customer
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the market, supplier base, competition, and customer requirements across your departments in particular

What Skills & Experience You’ll Need

  • Strong experience as a womenswear designer with a premium athleisure or international fashion brand ideally at TWC level of the market (entry luxury)
  • Strong sketching and cad skills
  • Strong track record with creative & commercial success and experience working within a retail BMDT team
  • BA degree in Fashion/Textiles design

  • Good verbal and visual communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with colleagues, suppliers and others at all levels
  • Excellent sketch & spec skills to understand garment production. Computer skills ideally to include Photoshop, Illustrator, CAD
  • Appetite for design influences and a strong eye. An original thinker
  • Able to work under own initiative & the flexibility to do a variety of tasks
  • Strong enthusiasm for TWC as a brand
  • Ability to work under pressure and with strong personalities

This role is part time and days / hours will depend on experience level
