Our Role
We are looking for an Interim Head of Brand Communications to support the Director of Brand Comms in the definition and implementation of our brand marketing and communication strategies. A recent review and subsequent amplification of brand comms activity has created significant opportunity for the further development of seasonal campaigns, content creation and brand/media partnerships. We need an outstanding communicator, able to bring together stakeholder teams, and a highly effective planner, with experience and in-depth understanding of all communication channels.
In this interim role, a key focus will be driving our social strategy forward, backed by data to ensure we’re making informed, impactful decisions. We’re looking for a candidate with a strong background in social media, particularly across our key channels, to help shape and elevate our approach. You’ll play an integral role in delivering and implementing our social strategy, ensuring it resonates with our audience, aligns with The White Company’s values, and is supported by solid insights.
What you’ll be doing
- Support the translation of our brand vision and business ambition into a marketing communications plan with which to build customer awareness, engagement, loyalty and reputation.
- Support the development of the brand marketing strategy in the UK, US and ROW markets.
- Own the Planning Calendar and Critical Path for effective cross-functional seasonal and product communications.
- Oversee execution of marketing campaigns across all sales and marketing channels.
- Collaborate with content teams to create compelling, relevant and inspiring content; deliver that content to customers in ways that are imaginative and effective.
- Develop customer brand experience initiatives and champion their development and implementation.
- Identify and develop brand partnerships, working with key stakeholders across the business to create relevant activity.
- Develop and implement a local marketing strategy to support store openings and ongoing store performance.
- Nurture relationships with key communications stakeholders: digital, retail, VM, merchandising and PD.
- Work closely and collaboratively with all creative teams to ensure comms collateral is briefed in a timely and effective way.
- Manage the marketing budget, ensuring budget holders are held accountable for spend and priorities are re-evaluated when needed.
- Identify and measure relevant brand comms KPIs.
- Assess and improve marketing processes to maximise the performance of campaigns and budgets.
- Lead, inspire and motivate the team, ensuring collaborative, creative, energised and organised activity.
The skills & experience that you’ll need
- Significant brand marketing experience within Retail and/or Luxury.
- Knowledge of all marketing comms channels, in particular social, and media (digital, print, OOH).
- Proven leader of brand marketing teams and programmes. A driver of change – able to inspire, influence, collaborate and lead cross-functional teams.
- Credible and confident to influence senior stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels as well as developed interpersonal skills.
- Able to interpret, prioritise and act with a sharp attention to detail.
- Highly organised with the capacity to lead multiple projects at the same time.
- High aesthetic taste level and intuitive understanding of our brand.
- Creative flair alongside good commercial understanding. Analytical, passionate, resourceful and imaginative.
- Education to degree level.
