ABOUT CHAPTER 3
Chapter 3 Graphics, part of the Whisper Group, is an award-winning creative studio specialising in motion design, broadcast graphics, live events, branded content and immersive visual experiences. While sport sits at the heart of what we do, our work extends far beyond it. We collaborate with broadcasters, brands, rights holders, production companies and event organisers to create content that informs, entertains and inspires audiences around the world. From title sequences and live broadcast graphics to promotional campaigns, real-time experiences and emerging technologies such as AR and AI-driven content, we help our clients tell stories in new and engaging ways. Our clients include some of the biggest names in sport, entertainment and media, and our work is seen by millions of viewers every week.
THE ROLE
We're looking for a Senior Motion Designer who combines exceptional creative ability with the confidence and experience to lead projects. This is not a pure management role. We're looking for someone who loves being on the tools, crafting outstanding design and animation work, while also taking ownership of projects and helping elevate those around them. You’ll work closely with the Creative Director and GFX Producers to develop ideas, solve creative challenges and deliver world‑class work across broadcast, digital, social, live events and branded content. You’ll be trusted to take projects from brief to delivery, making creative decisions independently while contributing to the wider creative direction of the studio.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Leading the creative development of projects from concept through to final delivery
- Creating high‑quality motion design, animation and visual storytelling across multiple platforms
- Developing creative responses for pitches, proposals and client presentation
- Working directly with producers, creatives and clients to bring ideas to life
- Mentoring and supporting junior and midweight designers
- Contributing to the evolution of our creative standards, workflows and processes
- Exploring new technologies, techniques and creative opportunities
- Helping shape innovative solutions that push beyond traditional broadcast graphics
Please note that responsibilities may be amended, added to, or removed to reflect the changing needs of the production or organisation.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We care far more about creativity, storytelling and attitude than a checklist of software skills. The ideal candidate will be:
- A brilliant designer and animator
- Passionate about storytelling and audience engagement
- Curious about emerging technologies and new creative possibilities
- Comfortable taking ownership of projects
- Able to work independently without constant direction
- Excited by collaboration and sharing ideas
- Detail‑oriented and committed to producing exceptional work
- Someone who actively looks for ways to improve both the work and the team around them.
A passion for sport is a huge advantage, but what matters most is a passion for telling stories and creating experiences that connect with audiences.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design and motion craft
- Advanced knowledge of After Effects and Adobe Creative Suite
- Excellent understanding of typography, composition, colour and visual communication
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience leading creative projects and collaborating with teams
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Cinema 4D
- Unreal Engine
- Experience in broadcast, live events or entertainment
- Knowledge of real‑time graphics workflows
- Experience creating content across multiple formats and platforms
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted creative workflows
- Vizrt, Rive or other real‑time graphics platforms
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE AFTER 12 MONTHS
By the end of your first year at Chapter 3 Graphics, you'll have become a trusted and valued member of the team, taking ownership of projects and helping shape the creative output of the studio. Success in this role will look like:
- Leading projects independently from brief through to delivery, with the confidence to make creative decisions and solve challenges along the way.
- Producing work that consistently raises the creative standard of the studio and inspires those around you.
- Building strong relationships with producers, clients and creative partners through collaboration, reliability and creative excellence.
- Helping mentor and develop junior designers by sharing knowledge, providing guidance and setting a positive example.
- Contributing innovative ideas, new workflows and creative approaches that improve how we work and what we deliver.
- Playing an active role in pitches, proposals and creative development, helping us win exciting new projects.
- Exploring and embracing new technologies, tools and techniques that help keep Chapter 3 Graphics at the forefront of our industry.
Most importantly, you'll have helped create work that informs, entertains and excites audiences while contributing to the continued growth and evolution of the studio.
