Whisper is a leading global production company, specialising in sports, unscripted and branded entertainment. Our diverse team of over 285 international employees produce top-level sports such as Formula One, UEFA and The Paralympics, as well as branded content, prime time documentaries, and entertainment quiz shows for a raft of broadcasters. Whisper’s creativity and storytelling are BAFTA-winning and Emmy International-nominated. It is also a Sunday Times Best Places to Work.

We are seeking a creative, confident and bold Shooting Digital Producer to work alongside Whisper’s Social Lead and Social Media Manager to help drive the development of a high-profile client’s video content. You will be working with clients, sports organisations, contributors and on-screen talent, planning and executing must-watch long-form content for YouTube. You will have first-rate people skills and the ability to operate in a team and individually, to manage complex production plans across a sporting calendar. You will be a great self-shooter, ideally with working knowledge of Sony A7S, FX3 and FX6 cameras and gimbals. You’ll also have the skills to edit your rushes into entertaining and engaging YouTube pieces on Adobe Premiere Pro, keeping audiences hooked throughout. This will be content that stops people scrolling and encourages them to engage and share. An interest in and knowledge of Rugby Union is desirable but not essential.

Whisper is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We welcome and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, communities, and lived experiences. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported.

What we’re looking for:

  • Individuals with a track record of making brilliant digital and social content for a major brand, ideally in sport.
  • Someone with creative production skills who understands how to work with top-level sports talent and has the people skills to get the best out of contributors.
  • A videographer confident in shooting on a variety of cameras who can structure a shoot day to capture enough material to create strong 8–10-minute YouTube videos with a stand-out thumbnail and hook, engaging narrative throughout, and the technical ability to deliver on the shoot plan.
  • An independent editor, who can see through their creative ideas to delivery, to a standard worthy of a premium YouTube sports property.
  • An organised shoot planner who can manage a changing schedule and keep on top of communications in a coherent and reliable manner.
  • An interest in rugby union is desirable but not essential.

As well as the Long-Form creativity, we are also looking for:

  • A creative person who can take a 10-minute slot with two athletes and turn it into shareable short-form cross-platform content for social media.
  • A deep understanding of how our access can translate into standout social media content which performs in its own right on the platform and also drives viewers to our YouTube channel.

Your Mission:

To make digital and social content that is considered the best that the sport of rugby has ever seen, for a major organisation within the sport. To translate brilliant access to players into content that creates stars, finding and developing the next generation of breakout stars. To be the creative force behind all our self-shot content. You should be the confident voice in the room that pushes the team and the client to try new things. Be bold and try new things. If those things don’t work, be confident enough to learn from the feedback and get better.

Please note that responsibilities may be amended, added to, or removed to reflect the changing needs of the production or organisation.

The Skills You Bring:

  • Self-shooting skills on Sony A7S, FX3, and FX6 or similar, including high competence in recording sound and use of gimbals.
  • Editing skills using the Adobe Suite, especially strong competence in Adobe Premiere, with preferably a growing skillset in After-Effects.
  • Project management skills, planning a shoot calendar, and delivering on it.
  • The know-how to make content that provokes strong reactions in an audience.
  • You know the difference between ‘good enough’ and ‘industry-leading’.
  • You have worked many times with sports organisations and know the importance of building relationships with clubs, players and broadcasters.
  • You are a brilliant communicator who can show off your vision internally but also to our client and their clubs.
  • A passion for digital and social video.
  • You are constantly looking for new inspiration and comparing yourself with the rest of the industry.
  • You agree that if we stand still, we go backwards.

If you want to make content that changes the whole perception of a sport, we want to hear from you.

Whisper offers the option of flexitime hours, subject to production requirements.
