About The Western Club
The Western Club is one of Glasgow’s most established private members’ clubs, located in the heart of the city centre. Offering a combination of meeting spaces, accommodation, and member facilities, the Club provides a distinctive and professional environment with a strong heritage. We are currently entering a period of focused development, aimed at enhancing both member experience and the commercial use of our facilities.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an Operations Supervisor to support the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the Club. This is a visible, hands-on role, combining operational coordination with front-of-house service and support for bookings and events. The position is primarily based on the Club floor, balancing administrative responsibilities with active involvement in the day-to-day operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a high standard of service to members and guests
- Act as a visible and approachable presence within the Club
- Manage and respond to room hire enquiries
- Support the conversion of enquiries into confirmed bookings
- Coordinate the delivery of meetings and small events
- Ensure rooms are prepared and presented to a high standard
- Work closely with the Club’s restaurant tenant to coordinate catering
- Support day-to-day operational management of the Club
- Provide direction to housekeeping and operational support staff
Working Pattern
- 40 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday
- Based mainly on the Club floor
- Occasional evenings and weekends by arrangement
About You
You will bring:
- Experience within hospitality, hotels, or a similar environment
- A practical, hands-on approach to operations
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Confidence working independently
- A professional and service-focused attitude
- Experience of events, bookings, or room hire operations would be advantageous.
