We’re looking for an Automation & Controls Engineer to design, develop, and maintain bespoke automated equipment for pneumatic applications. Working closely with Engineering and Production, you’ll deliver reliable, efficient automation solutions from concept through to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control elements for automated systems.
- Build, prototype, optimise, and validate automated equipment.
- Develop HMIs, operator interfaces, and control panels.
- Diagnose faults, perform maintenance, and support existing equipment.
- Produce technical documentation including feasibility studies, designs, manuals, and validation reports.
- Provide technical support across DTV, Production, and testing activities.
- Work to deadlines while maintaining quality, safety, and compliance.
Skills & Experience
Required:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in automation or control systems engineering.
- HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles.
- Coding skills (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Python, C++/Arduino, VBA).
- PLC experience (ideally Mitsubishi).
- Knowledge of sensors, digital communications, pneumatics, and electrical/pneumatic circuit design.
- Familiarity with 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks).
- Awareness of ISO9001 and ISO13485.
Preferred:
- Advanced pneumatic systems knowledge.
- Experience with CAE (FEA/CFD), 3D printing, machining, and additional ISO standards (e.g., ISO17025, PUWER).
