Reporting to and taking day-to-day direction from the Business Development Director, you will manage assigned accounts and new business to drive revenue and profit growth through new opportunities, projects, and relationship management—working closely with the Account Manager for your area.
You’ll support the sales team to achieve the sales strategy, quality objectives, and business goals, maintaining margin integrity, effective contract management, and de-risking assigned accounts.
This role covers the East of England; therefore, travel will be required. Further details will be discussed during the interview process.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage assigned accounts to maintain and grow sales profit in line with minimum profit levels
- Proactively seek new business opportunities while maintaining strong existing customer relationships
- Visit customers and new opportunities weekly (field-based role)
- Manage leads and enquiries, logging opportunities in HubSpot CRM
- Develop value-added, solution-based projects
- Collaborate with Technical, Production, and Sales teams for smooth project delivery
- Maintain CRM, SAP, and contract records accurately
- Manage forecasts, analyse sales patterns, and monitor account risk
- Ensure strong contract and margin management
- Support trade shows and exhibitions as required
Client relationship focus:
- Build strong customer relationships and understand their business needs
- Identify new project opportunities and collaborate with engineering
- Deliver exceptional customer satisfaction and resolve escalated issues
- Work closely with Account Managers and internal teams to achieve targets
Skills & experience:
- Field-based sales experience or an engineering background (preferred)
- Strong communicator and cross-functional collaborator
- Proactive, organised, and able to prioritise under pressure
- Data analysis capability and strong Microsoft Office skills
- Positive approach to change and continuous improvement
