The DTV Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Design Test & Validation (DTV) lab, ensuring that all testing, validation, and qualification activities are performed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. The role involves managing a team of engineers to guarantee the reliability, performance, and quality of products while driving continuous improvement in testing procedures and processes. The DTV Team Leader will play a pivotal role in expanding the company’s testing capabilities, supporting the development of an ISO-accredited laboratory that ensures product quality while offering potential testing services to customers.
Job Role:
- Lead & Develop High-Performing Teams: Manage and mentor the DTV team to deliver quality testing services, drive continuous improvement, and align with strategic goals using KPIs.
- Oversee Test Planning & Execution: Ensure timely, compliant execution of design validation, in-house testing, and rapid prototyping, providing actionable insights to engineering teams.
- Advance Lab Capabilities: Expand mechanical and filter testing, implement rapid prototyping and automation, and integrate advanced validation software and equipment.
- Ensure Quality & Compliance: Maintain industry and regulatory standards, support audits, uphold data integrity, and lead process documentation and continuous improvement.
- Drive Innovation & Customisation: Collaborate on bespoke test solutions, develop automation for internal processes, and lead testing for new product designs.
- Manage Risk & Cost: Proactively reduce validation risks and optimise testing for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a test/validation lab environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of design qualification, product validation, and industry compliance standards.
- Hands-on experience with test equipment, data acquisition systems, and automated validation systems.
- Proven ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
- Experience of CAE software (such as FEA/CFD).
Preferred Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in lean processes, continuous improvement, and quality management systems.
- Good project management skills.
- Knowledge of ISO17025 and what is required to achieve the accreditation in the future.
