We are seeking a dedicated GP Receptionist to become an integral part of our dynamic team.

The Wells Medical Practice is a large, welcoming GP practice, which is continually expanding to serve its ever-growing community of over 19,000 patients. Nestled in the vibrant centre of Tunbridge Wells, our location offers easy access to amenities and lies within walking distance of both Tunbridge Wells and High Brooms Rail Stations.

The position is for approximately 27.5 hours per week, with the addition of flexibility to work overtime/extra hours to cover staff absences is essential to this role.

Shift pattern:

  • AM session – 7.45am to 1.15pm
  • PM session – 1pm to 6.30pm
  • Days we are looking to recruit for Monday all day, Tuesday and Friday PM shifts

We are looking for a friendly and efficient communicator with good interpersonal skills and a helpful professional manner, plus the ability to work under pressure in a busy setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients warmly and assist with their enquiries
  • Schedule appointments and manage the appointment booking system efficiently
  • Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail
  • Maintain patient records accurately and confidentially
  • Handle administrative tasks such as completing tasks sent from GPs.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth operations within the practice.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and familiarity with basic office software
  • Compassionate attitude towards patients
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
