We are seeking an experienced and creative Deputy Editor to support the delivery of high-quality, engaging content within the wellness sector. Working closely with the Editor, you will play a key role in shaping editorial direction, maintaining content standards, and ensuring all output reflects our brand voice and values. This role is ideal for someone with strong editorial judgement, a passion for health and wellbeing, and the ability to balance creativity with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Editor in planning and delivering the content strategy across all platforms
- Commission, write, and edit content across digital channels (website, blogs, email, and social)
- Ensure all content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with brand tone and editorial guidelines
- Oversee day-to-day content production and manage editorial calendars
- Edit and proofread content to a high standard, ensuring clarity, consistency, and quality
- Collaborate with writers, freelancers, and subject matter experts (e.g. therapists, practitioners)
- Ensure content adheres to relevant health and wellbeing guidelines and best practices
- Monitor content performance and support optimisation for SEO and engagement
- Step in for the Editor when required
Requirements
- Proven experience in an editorial role (Deputy Editor, Senior Editor, or similar)
- Strong writing, editing, and content planning skills
- Experience within the wellness, health, or lifestyle sector
- Excellent attention to detail and editorial judgement
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong understanding of digital content, SEO, and audience engagement
- Confident working with contributors and external partners
Desirable
- Background in health, fitness, nutrition, mental health, or holistic wellbeing
- Experience working with regulated or evidence-based content
- Familiarity with CMS platforms
- Experience mentoring writers or managing freelancers
