About the Role

Theatre Support Assistant for The Wellington Hospital. Join our dedicated theatre department, rated "Good" by the CQC, providing world‑class care across 13 theatres in 3 buildings. In this permanent, full‑time, 37.5‑hour week role you will support complex surgeries and assist highly skilled surgeons and operating teams in a vibrant, technology‑driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled clinical and technical assistance during theatre procedures.
  • Participate in assessment of patient care needs and implement agreed standards of care.
  • Clean theatre and recovery areas before and after operating sessions, following the weekly cleaning schedule.
  • Stock cupboards and containers to agreed stock levels.
  • Collect, escort, and transfer patients from trolley to operating table under supervision.
  • Assist in safe positioning of patients on the operating table.
  • Act as circulating person for the scrub team within the scope of the role.

Qualifications

  • Health care qualification or care certificate.
  • Experience working in an operating theatre as a theatre support assistant.
  • Knowledge of healthcare computer systems (Meditech, Microsoft Outlook).
  • Understanding of infection prevention control.
  • Knowledge of WHO safety checks in theatres (essential).
