About the Role
Theatre Support Assistant for The Wellington Hospital. Join our dedicated theatre department, rated "Good" by the CQC, providing world‑class care across 13 theatres in 3 buildings. In this permanent, full‑time, 37.5‑hour week role you will support complex surgeries and assist highly skilled surgeons and operating teams in a vibrant, technology‑driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled clinical and technical assistance during theatre procedures.
- Participate in assessment of patient care needs and implement agreed standards of care.
- Clean theatre and recovery areas before and after operating sessions, following the weekly cleaning schedule.
- Stock cupboards and containers to agreed stock levels.
- Collect, escort, and transfer patients from trolley to operating table under supervision.
- Assist in safe positioning of patients on the operating table.
- Act as circulating person for the scrub team within the scope of the role.
Qualifications
- Health care qualification or care certificate.
- Experience working in an operating theatre as a theatre support assistant.
- Knowledge of healthcare computer systems (Meditech, Microsoft Outlook).
- Understanding of infection prevention control.
- Knowledge of WHO safety checks in theatres (essential).
