We’re looking for an Assistant Manager to help us deliver experiences that delight. This exciting role will see you work in an inspiring part of the world, motivating a team of passionate people while supporting and occasionally stepping in for the General Manager. The Wellington Hotel dates back to the 16th century and lies within the picturesque coastal village of Boscastle. This historic family‑friendly destination is one of the oldest coaching inns in Cornwall and boasts a popular pub, restaurant, and overnight accommodation. Boscastle is set along the county’s dramatic north coast, with spectacular walking trails and golden beaches on its doorstep. It’s a go‑to for locals and visitors alike.
About You: Taking the helm when the General Manager is away, you motivate team members to deliver their best and ensure everything is running smoothly and efficiently. Keeping a watchful eye over customer feedback means your team is always adapting to maintain high standards and improve where necessary. You go above and beyond to ensure a consistently high level of service, supporting the full team including Front and Back of House during peak times. A keen eye for detail means you keep all admin and cash management systems ticking along as they should, taking responsibility when the General Manager is away. You know health and safety regulations like the back of your hand. Team members see you as an inspiring role model and know they can depend on you for support and development. You take pride and responsibility for your own development, with an eye towards becoming a General Manager one day.
