We are seeking an experienced Water Hygiene Manager to lead and oversee Legionella compliance and water hygiene services across a diverse client portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with ACOP L8, HSG274, HTM 04-01, and associated guidance, while supporting service delivery, technical excellence, and business growth within The Well Group / Well Water division. The Water Hygiene Manager will act as a senior technical authority, working closely with engineers, administrators, clients, and the Managing Director to deliver high-quality, compliant, and commercially effective water hygiene solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and assure Legionella and water hygiene compliance across client estates in line with ACOP L8, HSG274, HTM 04-01, and relevant guidance.
- Review and interpret compliance data including temperature monitoring, logbooks, sampling results, and technical reports.
- Provide technical advice and consultation to clients on compliance status, risk management, and improvement actions.
- Carry out Key Site Legionella Risk Assessments and develop Written Schemes of Control using approved templates and procedures.
- Work closely with engineers to identify non-conformances, develop remedial strategies, and produce costings and schedules of rates.
- Lead and attend client meetings to review compliance performance, ongoing works, and contract delivery.
- Coordinate with a designated administrator to ensure programmes of water hygiene works are planned, tracked, and completed on time.
- Conduct internal audits of reports, records, and documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality standards.
- Manage preparation for LCA accreditation and support other relevant accreditations and internal health & safety audits.
- Deliver internal training to engineers on water hygiene and Legionella control best practice and company procedures.
- Support new starters through technical mentoring, competency assessments, and ongoing development.
- Provide technical briefings and training to customers, including supporting the development of formal training services within the Well Water offering.
- Work with the Managing Director to obtain and maintain CPD membership, supporting the delivery of accredited or CPD-aligned training services.
- Provide technical input into tenders, quality submissions, and compliance documentation.
- Support the Managing Director in strengthening the technical reputation, service quality, and competitive position of The Well Group and Well Water division.
