Are you an experienced Phlebotomist who takes pride in providing a caring and professional service to patients? Are you confident working independently and keen to be part of a friendly and supportive practice team? Fantastic! We are recruiting for an experienced Phlebotomist to join New Coningsby Surgery on a part-time basis to provide maternity cover.
This is a fixed-term maternity cover position, working 2 days per week on Mondays and Tuesdays, 08:00–13:00.
As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for taking blood samples from patients safely and correctly, ensuring samples are labelled accurately and stored appropriately so they can be processed without the need to recall patients. You will be caring and approachable, with the ability to put patients at ease, particularly those who may feel anxious about having blood taken. You will work closely with the wider practice team to provide a high-quality, patient-centred service.
WHOM ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Previous experience working in a phlebotomy service
- Phlebotomy qualification desirable
- Able to perform phlebotomy procedures confidently and without direct supervision
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and Infection Prevention and Control procedures
- Accurate and methodical, with good attention to detail
- Able to complete associated administration, record keeping and sample labelling
- Good communication and patient-facing skills
- Caring and compassionate approach to patient care
- IT literate
- SystmOne experience desirable
