Full-Time Dispenser Apprentice Position, New Coningsby Surgery

New Coningsby Surgery has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Dispenser Apprentice to join our expanding team. This role offers hands-on experience in a busy dispensary alongside completing an 18–21 month apprenticeship programme, which will include an End-Point Assessment (EPA).
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Dispenser Apprentice, you will learn and develop the skills needed to provide high-quality dispensing services to our patients. Under the guidance of our experienced team, you will be involved in:
- Preparing and dispensing prescriptions – ensuring patients receive the correct medication and dosage.
- Prescription management – receiving prescriptions, logging them, and handling phone calls and enquiries.
- Maintaining patient records – following strict confidentiality and data protection procedures.
- Communication – dealing professionally with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
- Stock control – ordering, receiving, and checking pharmaceutical stock, including monthly audits.
You will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 08:00 and 18:30, on a rota basis. Flexibility is essential.
WHOM ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You do not need prior dispensary experience – we will provide full training as part of your apprenticeship. We are looking for someone who is:
- Eager to learn and committed to completing the 15 month apprenticeship programme including the EPA.
- Organised, accurate, and able to follow processes carefully.
- Friendly and approachable, with excellent customer service skills.
- Confident using IT systems (training will be given).
- A team player with good communication skills.
- A driver with access to transport (essential due to travel between our sites).
