As an Automation Solutions Designer/Architect, you will be a key architect of Weir’s Group Digital & Automation ecosystem, defining how integrations, automation, AI, and process intelligence come together to support global operations at scale. You will lead the design of end-to-end architectures spanning enterprise integrations, process automation, user experience automation, and agentic capabilities, connecting internal and external applications through robust, API-led and event-driven patterns. By leveraging platforms such as MuleSoft, UiPath, Power Platform, Salesforce, Workday, S4 Hanna, and Celonis, you will ensure that automation initiatives are tightly aligned with business strategy, deliver measurable efficiency and control, and support critical functions across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Commercial domains.

What we offer: At Weir, we are proud to provide reward on a basis which is fair and attractive, including a competitive benefits package. Through our ‘We are Weir’ framework, we focus on the importance of our people and the contribution they make to our organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defining and owning end-to-end solution architectures across automation, process mining, integration, Agentic AI, and cloud platforms; translating business strategy and outcomes into pragmatic, scalable technical architectures.
  • Partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain leaders to identify automation opportunities and shape demand; leading process analysis and redesign, using process mining and data insights to determine what and what not to automate.
  • Architecting large-scale automation solutions, ensuring scalability, security, resilience, and compliance; driving API-led and event-driven automation, avoiding fragile point solutions and UI-only automations.
  • Setting architectural standards, patterns, and guardrails to reduce complexity and increase reuse; influencing technology selection and platform strategy across automation, integration, and AI ecosystems.
  • Guiding delivery teams in Agile and DevOps environments, providing architectural direction throughout the delivery lifecycle; supporting change management, ensuring automation adoption is successful and sustainable.
  • Developing playbooks, reusable templates, and reference architectures to scale automation across the enterprise; tracking, measuring, and communicating business impact, KPIs, and value realisation.
  • Staying current with AI, agentic automation, and emerging technologies, identifying where innovation can safely accelerate value.

Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical discipline, with extensive experience in solution or enterprise architecture focused on integration and automation.
  • Proven delivery of large scale automation and agentic initiatives, beyond pilots and proofs of concept, including hands on experience with process mining, intelligent automation, workflow orchestration, and API-based, event-driven, and message-based integration architectures.
  • Strong cloud and platform experience, including designing and running cloud native solutions, working with enterprise integration platforms, and delivering in global, cross functional, agile environments across multiple stakeholders, vendors, and technology platforms.
  • Demonstrated change and stakeholder leadership, with experience driving transformation programmes, managing complex initiatives, engaging stakeholders effectively, and maintaining a strong sense of ownership and architectural integrity.
  • Strong SAP experience.
