Weir’s Global Transformation Programme will establish the core business platforms and ways of working that will power the company for the next decade. The VP Transformation is Weir’s most senior business‑side leader for enterprise, technology‑led transformation, accountable for end‑to‑end outcomes and ensuring changes are embedded, adopted, and value‑realising at scale beyond go‑live. This role exists to translate Board‑approved transformation ambition into sustained enterprise performance – aligning strategy, operating model, process, data and technology, so that new platforms and architectural changes materially transform how Weir works and delivers value.
Location: UK or US Based
Key Responsibilities:
- Enterprise Transformation Leadership: Own overall enterprise transformation outcomes and the enterprise value case for S/4HANA+ and related architecture change; sponsor programme delivery through a dedicated Programme Director.
- Transformation Office Leadership: Lead an enterprise Transformation Office that integrates business, technology, data, and change into a single outcomes‑led transformation system during the programme and beyond.
- Outcomes, Adoption & Value Realisation: Ensure the transformation delivers sustained business outcomes (not just system delivery) through adoption, performance improvement and behavioural change at scale; define measurable benefits, track realisation, remove adoption barriers and sustain value through the post‑go‑live optimisation runway.
- Programme Sponsorship & Delivery Guardrails: Provide executive sponsorship and oversight of the multi‑year, multi‑wave programme; set delivery guardrails (pace, quality expectations, dependency visibility, escalation rules) and assure effective governance and RAID cadence.
- Business Readiness & Cutover‑to‑Stabilisation: Assure business readiness at each stage (Prepare, Design, Build, Deploy, Run) and partner to deliver cutover‑to‑stabilisation outcomes including business continuity, hyper‑care priorities, adoption metrics and value acceleration.
- Executive & Board Governance: Operate as a core member of the S/4HANA+ executive leadership and steering structure; provide clear, outcome‑focused reporting to Group Executive and Board committees, ensuring high‑quality decision material, clear trade‑offs and timely escalation.
- Stakeholder Leadership & Operating Model Evolution: Build trust‑based relationships with CFO, CIO, CPO and Divisional Presidents; mobilise senior business ownership of process/product decisions and change adoption; lead operating model redesign where required to shift from local optimisation to enterprise platforms and standard processes.
- Partner & Commercial Leadership: Provide executive oversight of strategic partners critical to the transformation (including SAP RISE and the Systems Integrator), ensuring delivery remains aligned to outcomes, fit‑to‑standard and governance; oversee major commercial matters and ensure vendor performance and remediation actions are transparent at executive level.
- Post Go‑live Roadmap & Continuous Improvement: Shape and govern the post‑go‑live product/platform roadmap (SAP releases, integration changes, security, data/analytics), prioritising change demand by enterprise value; build enduring transformation capability beyond the programme.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world‑class safety culture.
Job Knowledge / Education And Qualifications:
- Enterprise‑scale transformation leadership: Demonstrated experience leading large‑scale, multi‑year ERP or enterprise technology transformations (c. £100m+) with accountability for end‑to‑end outcomes and value case delivery.
- SAP S/4HANA transformation expertise: Senior leadership in SAP S/4HANA transformations (or equivalent Tier 1 ERP / enterprise technology).
- Post go‑live optimisation: Proven accountability for post‑go‑live optimisation including hyper‑care, adoption, benefits realisation and continuous improvement.
- Executive stakeholder leadership: Strong track record operating across federated, multi‑business organisations with limited direct line control, engaging C‑suite and Board stakeholders and aligning leaders to enterprise standards.
- Commercial and partner leadership: Proven experience working with global system integrators and complex commercial/contractual frameworks; financially literate across Opex/Capex control and trade‑offs.
- Leadership mindset: Leads with gravitas, clarity and pace; thrives in ambiguity, complexity and intensity; challenges constructively; takes ownership; models enterprise thinking over divisional optimisation.
- Strongly preferred: Experience in global, asset‑heavy or industrial environments (e.g., manufacturing, mining, engineering, energy) and transformation enabled by data, analytics and AI.
