The Recipe (About the Role)

Ensure the smooth, efficient, and safe functioning of cleaning operations across our factories by adhering to all Health and Safety regulations and maintaining Food Safety compliance. In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with a diverse team, which requires flexibility to work across different areas of the factory. Please note that 12-hour shifts will be mandatory, including coverage for days, nights, and weekends.

  • Maintain factory cleanliness, including production floors, using the 5S system.
  • Clean around machinery, removing dust and spills to ensure functionality and audit readiness.
  • Assist production teams with ad-hoc cleaning tasks and pallet handling.
  • Identify and address cleaning needs proactively without supervision.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines for cleaning, including proper chemical use and machine isolation (SILT) understanding.
  • Safely collect and dispose of waste materials in compliance with environmental standards.
  • Adhere to company cleaning procedures and report issues to the Shift Manager; complete required training and participate in team huddles.
  • Participate in risk assessment reviews as needed.

  • Understanding of basic health and safety procedures in a factory setting, particularly in a dusty or manufacturing environment.
  • Able to identify tasks independently and take initiative to ensure the factory remains clean and safe.
  • Must be able to work long shifts (12 hours) and handle physical tasks, such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic Food Hygiene CIEH Certificated.
  • HACCP Awareness.
  • COSHH Awareness.
  • Manual Handling.
  • Health and Safety Awareness.
