The Recipe (About the Role)

As Commercial Operations Manager, you will own the processes, tools and planning activities that enable a high-performing Sales function. Working across teams, you will drive the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) cycle, improve forecasting accuracy and optimise ways of working to help sustainable growth. Using data, technology and continuous improvement elements, you will help build commercial capability, enhance decision-making and ensure the business can effectively balance customer, commercial and supply priorities.

  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Sales operation, enabling National Account Managers (NAMs) to focus on delivering customer growth.
  • Own the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) cycle for demand planning, driving accuracy, cross-functional alignment and timely delivery.
  • Own and optimise the commercial calendar, creating clear and consistent routines across planning, budgeting, performance reviews and team cadence.
  • Strengthen team culture and engagement, championing continuous improvement initiatives such as Me & Weetabix.
  • Develop and evolve the Commercial Academy, building capability through tools, training and programmes aligned to business priorities.
  • Facilitate clear, timely and transparent communication, ensuring effective judgement and alignment across teams.
  • Work with customer-focused judgements by balancing supply issues and priorities where trade-offs are needed.
  • Shape and continuously improve the commercial operating model, simplifying processes and embedding scalable, future-ready ways of working.
  • Embed data-led judgement making by partnering with Information Technology (IT) and Data & Digital teams to enhance forecasting, insight and automation.
  • Build organisational capability across financial awareness, customer planning, negotiation and strategic thinking.
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Supply Chain, Category, Finance and Customer Brand to deliver a joined-up go-to-market approach.

  • Experience in Sales Operations, Commercial Planning, or cross-functional roles within Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).
  • Understanding of commercial processes, customer planning cycles, and demand planning elements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g. Supply Chain, Finance, Category).
  • Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Digital and analytical capability, including Microsoft Excel, dashboards, and planning tools.
