We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our exceptional finance team! The successful candidate will work on a project to maintain low levels of aged debt by managing cash allocation and customer deductions (trade marketing deductions) for our Spanish company. In addition to supporting the wider team, the role will also involve some basic accounting and month-end close responsibilities.
The purpose of this role is:
- Manage complexity within trade marketing deductions, ensuring timely cash/payments allocation, investigating and resolving customer trade marketing deductions and working with stakeholders to resolve issues quickly.
- Keep aged debt below 60 days overdue, including invoices and deductions.
- Regular reporting with stakeholders to provide insight and drive improvements.
- Support and coordination with internal/external audit (Statutory and SOX).
- Timely and accurate delivery of month-end tasks (journals, reconciliations, reports).
- Support other areas of finance as required.
- Occasional travel to our Madrid office.
Requirements:
- Non-negotiables:
- Familiarity with Microsoft D365 or comparable systems.
- Proven experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector or a related field, particularly with a focus on trade marketing deductions.
- Previous AR/Credit control experience.
- Exceptional analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel is essential.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and a Lean mindset.
- Nice to haves:
- Good level of Spanish (speaking, reading, writing).
- Has worked in AR with Spanish and Portuguese FMCG customers.
- Professional Qualification, or aspiration to achieve e.g. CICM, AAT.
