Job Overview
As a Sessional Tutor, you will provide engaging teaching, learning and assessment with a creative and supportive approach to teaching. You will adapt to a range of learning styles, differentiate delivery to learners with mixed abilities to develop knowledge and understanding, and maintain the highest possible quality teaching and learning for a group of learners. The role involves teaching Functional Skills (Maths and English) and Digital courses for the upcoming academic year.
Responsibilities
- Provide engaging teaching, learning and assessment with a creative and supportive approach.
- Adapt to a range of learning styles and differentiate delivery to learners with mixed abilities.
- Develop learners’ knowledge and understanding while maintaining high quality teaching.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Teaching qualification (PCGE, CertEd, DET or equivalent).
- Level 5 specialism; IQA and Assessor qualifications are advantageous.
- Experience designing and implementing innovative learning, schemes of work, and lesson plans.
- Experience with initial assessment and diagnostic tools.
- Thorough understanding of RARPA, EIF and related quality processes.
- Experience working with adults in hard‑to‑reach areas who may face multiple barriers to education.
- Strong working knowledge of the OFSTED Education Inspection Framework.
- Strong teamwork ethic with a willingness to collaborate and support colleagues.
- Passion for adult education and making a difference.
Compensation
£29.78 hourly rate – part‑time or sessional opportunities available, teaching hours during the day and/or evening.
