Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking Practice, providing the highest standard of patient-centred health care.

We have a population of up to 9,500 patients and we lead the way for Primary Care in Huddersfield. Our Practice's QOF figures are consistently high and we provide scope for our Clinicians to develop special interests in Primary Care.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a salaried GP to join our existing team of Clinicians at The Waterloo Practice for 4 sessions (24 Months Fixed Term), as per the attached job description.

About us

We are a supportive training practice with 5 GP partners, Salaried GP, ACP and 3 GP Registrars. We have excellent supporting administrative and clinical teams including Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and Pharmacy team. We have approximately 9,500 patients and operate from purpose built premises. We are a member of the Tolson Care Partnership Network. We use TPP SystmOne and are high QOF achievers with a Good CQC rating.

Job responsibilities

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the contract.

Furthermore, the post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Fully qualified GP with current General Medical Council (GMC) registration and license to practice
  • Strong commitment to patient-centred care and clinical excellence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, colleagues and wider healthcare teams

Desirable

  • Local Knowledge & Enhanced Skills
  • Familiarity with local referral pathways, community services and prescribing formularies
  • Experience managing digital workflows efficiently including processing pathology results, clinical correspondence and repeat prescriptions
